Neon Speaks program

For the first two years of its existence, I designed many things for the Neon Speaks Festival & Symposium in San Francisco. The program's trim size is 5.5 x 8.5 inches, and was a collaborative design effort with Randall Ann Homan at SFneon. Neon cowboy twins cover photo by Will Durham of Nevada Neon Project.

Neon Map+Poster of Portland

This keepsake map and poster of Portland Oregon’s best neon signs was developed in tandem with my first neon walking tour of Portland. The map was diligently researched and as up-to-date as possible. The poster side includes images from signs around town, each marked with corresponding numbers to signs listed on the map.

Begin Labs logo and business cards

Begin Labs is a startup accelerator company. In collaboration with Marketing Director Stacey Katlain, I developed the logo to project energy and smart innovation. Together we also developed the brand color palette, symbolic iconography system, marketing materials, signage, and brand guidelines. See the whole brand development here.

ABOVE/  INSIDE poster

Poster design for Melanie Noel, poet laureate of Redmond (WA) and the city of Redmond. The "ABOVE/INSIDE poster is 2-sided, 19"x19", folded in quarters, printed with silver ink, and includes Melanie's poem "River Aviary Culvert" on one side, and a map of Redmond's river park on the other side. Three short poems by Melanie's students — each assigned to a specific tree in the park — are included, with trees marked on the map. This piece explores waves of various types — sound and energetic waves, gestural waves, and hands.

Belltown Paper

One of the first publications I had creative control over was the Belltown Paper, a neighborhood paper in Seattle, of which I was also the editor from 2000 - 2004.

The masthead is my design, and I did all the photography and created an icon for each monthly edition, usually from photos of architectural details around the neighborhood.
