I was super honored to be invited to speak at Typographics this year, a design conference at Cooper Union in New York. My talk (pictured right) was in the TypeLab – the first half covered what led me to making neon GIFs and how I fell in love with neon signs; the second half was a demo on making custom-lettered GIFs, from initial pencil sketch to final animation and output.
I also wrote a blog piece for the conference, which was a bit more nerd-ish and historical, and includes an abbreviated version of the GIF-making demo as well.
I'm open to giving talks at other conferences or schools! If you are interested in booking me for an event please contact me here.
